The process of handling a claim
We begin the process by meeting with our clients. There is no fee for a consultation and for most cases there is no attorney fee unless we obtain a satisfactory recovery through settlement or trial. After the interview, we launch a comprehensive investigation to uncover evidence. Depending upon the nature of the claim, we may confer with highly qualified experts such as engineers, accident reconstruction experts, scientists, doctors, etc. If we conclude your case has merit, then we will contact the culpable party and seek to resolve the case through settlement.
Filing the lawsuit
If a full and fair settlement cannot be achieved, we file a document called a complaint in the appropriate jurisdiction and begin the process of fully litigating the case by conducting extensive discovery. In this phase of a case, we secure relevant documents that the defendant or others may have and we take depositions of pertinent witnesses. Once the discovery process is completed, there is another opportunity to reach a settlement through procedure called a mediation. If the case is not settled at that point, we prepare for trial. At trial, we bring all the resources of a big firm to the courtroom as well as the best, most qualified witnesses we can find. We have been highly successful at trial because of exceptional preparation and a dedication to obtaining justice. Convincing a jury that our cause is just is the only purpose of a trial.
